Summer is over, and I’ve somehow once again managed to miss out on a proper outdoor barbecue this year. Hence I was very much looking forward to trying the recently-launched Bottomless Barbecue Brunch at Temper Covent Garden. Situated on Mercer Walk, I’ve passed by on numerous occasions, mostly rushing off to class at Pineapple Dance Studios round the corner, so it was nice to finally pay a visit to enjoy a relaxing brunch.
The menu includes a feasting platter of barbecued meats, as well as 90 minutes of unlimited drinks. I made full use of those precious 90 minutes as I slowly worked my way through the cocktail list, where I downed a Mojito (because I was really thirsty!), before sipping away on more thirst-quenching classic summer cocktails which included a Temper Mary, Cosmopolitan, and Margarita. They also had wine and beer on offer, but I chose to stick to cocktails this time round. I don’t often drink much in the daytime, but there’s always an exception for weekend brunches.
Our feasting platter included succulent Adobo marinated free range chicken, aged rare-breed beef burgers with Emmental cheese, Cumberland sausages seasoned with honey, chilli salt, and sesame, a portion of kimchi slaw, and fries. The whole meal was substantially filling, and we were allowed to request for extra portions as well. I definitely had my fill of barbecued meats, and it almost made up for all the missed barbecue opportunities over the summer, minus the sunny outdoors.
I look forward to returning soon to try out their steaks and traditional corn tacos, and maybe even head downstairs sometime on one of my ‘cheatdays’ (which really varies, according to my mood!) to indulge in their Unlimited Pizza & Wine menu – deep-pan Detroit style pizza, yes please!
The Bottomless Brunch menu is priced at £35.00 per person, and is served on Saturdays from 12:00pm – 3:30pm at their Covent Garden and City branches – a vegetarian option is also available.
